Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cevada Bacon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renato Laranja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cevada Bacon had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bacon shoots in looking for a takedown but Laranja manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bacon's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Bacon gets tackled into the cage by Laranja. Laranja maintains the clinch.
Laranja tries to pull guard but Bacon holds him up against the cage and eventually Laranja drops back down to his feet.
Laranja breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Laranja shoots in but no luck this time.

Bacon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bacon showed some decent athleticism there.
Bacon takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Cevada Bacon.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Bacon wants to work for an arm triangle but Laranja is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Laranja has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bacon is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Laranja is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bacon's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bacon's back!
Laranja doesn't have the hooks in and Bacon manages to turn into his guard.

Bacon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Laranja's head.

Bacon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Laranja but Laranja pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bacon works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Bacon is looking to take a break and control but Laranja is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bacon, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
