The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kampemann thuds his right hand into Gomes's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Gomes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gomes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Gomes avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gomes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kampemann.
Kampemann throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Gomes drops back looking for a leg! Kampemann is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kampemann manages to kick Gomes off! Gomes jumps back into Kampemann's guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin Kampemann will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gomes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kampemann tries to avoid it but Gomes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kampemann to the ground. Kampemann escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kampemann turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kampemann manages to end up in side control.
