McDermid kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Drunken Scotsman - The Irish Rovers. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Phil Blaze!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermid connects with an inside leg kick.
Blaze throws out a leg kick but McDermid moves out of range and Blaze only half commits.

McDermid rushes Blaze and presses him up against the ropes.
Blaze tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and McDermid avoids it.
McDermid lands a hook to the side of the head.
Blaze stalling in the clinch but McDermid improves position.
McDermid throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Blaze tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and McDermid avoids it.
McDermid lands a left hand that snaps the head of Blaze backwards.
McDermid with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, McDermid creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Blaze blocks the elbow strike.
McDermid trying to land knees to the body.
Blaze is looking to control McDermid's arms but McDermid gets an underhook and turns him. Now Blaze has his back to the ropes.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Blaze misses with a shot to the kidneys.

McDermid misses with an elbow strike.
McDermid lands an elbow just above Blaze 's eye.


It looks like Phil Blaze has been cut.
McDermid gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Blaze working aggressively here.

A nice right hand lands inside from McDermid.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Blaze misses with some punches.
McDermid throws an elbow that misses.
Blaze is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Blaze avoids the elbow strike from McDermid, against the ropes.
McDermid using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Blaze has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Blaze throws a head punch that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shamus McDermid dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Phil Blaze's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Blaze throws a hook but McDermid avoids it easily.

Blaze scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops McDermid to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.


McDermid is rocked!


It looks like Shamus McDermid has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blaze is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by McDermid.
Oh McDermid is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Blaze connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks McDermid out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Phil Blaze!
