PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Light Diode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diode needs to keep his hands up - Gracie had a free shot at his head there.
Diode throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Gracie moves in looking to clinch but Diode pushes him off.
Diode throws a head kick but Gracie moves out of range.

and Diode counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Gracie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Diode sprawls well initially but Gracie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Diode doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gracie is pressing down on Diode's thigh, looking to free his foot. Diode is holding on for now.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Gracie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Gracie tries for a takedown but Diode sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diode manages to avoid it.
Diode fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Diode displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gracie.

Diode tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Diode lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gracie has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gracie and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Diode tried to score with a low kick but Gracie checks it.

Diode fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gracie.
Diode looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Diode takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Diode does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Diode feints and then cracks Gracie's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gracie down.

Light Diode showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Diode drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Gracie right on the button. Gracie goes down! Diode follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Diode gets the win via TKO!

A less than humble Light Diode misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
