The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cunnings cracks Monster with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Monster shoots for a double leg takedown but Cunnings sprawls well. He's pushed Monster's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Monster displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cunnings throws out the jab.

Monster got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cunnings has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Monster has managed to get both his arms back between Cunnings's legs - danger averted.

Cunnings has his foot on Monster's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Monster works his way back into a safe position though.
Cunnings working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Monster doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Monster manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cunnings is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Monster defends well.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Monster working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That was a close round but I would say that Jojo Cunnings will probably get the nod.

Cunnings seems to have locked his on tight now - Monster screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Cunnings, as he picks up the win!
