Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Alvarez Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banner comes to the cage accompanied by Hatebreed's I Will Be Heard . The crowd seem to be enjoying Joseph's choice of entrance music: TEARS FOR FEARS - SHOUT. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Bruce Alvarez Banner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, William Joseph! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Banner swats away the attempt to clinch by Joseph. Banner throws a series of punches but Joseph avoids them all with ease. Banner takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Banner gets a clinch. Banner is trying to force a seperation but Joseph has the dominant position. Banner is trying to break the clinch but Joseph is controlling him. Joseph keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Banner's efforts to push away. Banner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A looping hook to the body misses from Banner. Joseph does a little dance to reset his feet. Joseph throws a head kick but Banner moves out of range.

Banner shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Joseph counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Joseph misses with a leg kick. Joseph throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Joseph throws a shot from downtown. Banner moves away and avoids it. Bruce Alvarez Banner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Joseph misses with a looping left. Joseph tries to clinch but Banner is having none of it. Banner dives in and grabs Joseph's left leg, looking for a takedown. Joseph pushes down on Banner's head and hops out. Joseph fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Banner, pushing him back against the cage. Banner has a couple of punches blocked by Joseph.

Banner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Banner gets a takedown into half guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Banner trying to pass the guard but Joseph defending well. Joseph moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Banner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Joseph's guard. Banner is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Joseph reverses the position - he's now on top in Banner's guard. Banner is looking to sweep but instead, Joseph has passed into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Joseph prevents Banner from improving his position. Joseph scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Banner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Banner. Joseph postures up in Banner's guard and throws a big left but Banner blocks it. Banner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banner lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Joseph! Banner raining down shots from the mount! Banner unloads with some shots from mount but Joseph bucks and avoids them well.
Banner misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Banner throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Banner throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Joseph because Banner loaded up on that one. Banner lands with some strikes. Banner unloads with some shots from mount but Joseph bucks and avoids them well.
This has been an exciting period of action! Poor strikes thrown by Banner there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Banner with the ground and pound from mount. Joseph wants to hold on but Banner pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bruce Alvarez Banner dominated that round. That's time! Banner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Banner shoots in for a takedown but Joseph shows good takedown defense. Banner bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. A momentary lapse in concentration from Joseph enables Banner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Joseph manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Banner passes Joseph's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Banner missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Banner is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Joseph is in trouble now - Banner has advanced to mount! Banner punching from mount but Joseph doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Banner is landing with some decent strikes but Joseph is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Banner looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Banner sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Banner cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joseph is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Banner throws some wild stikes that Joseph manages to avoid easily.
Banner has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Joseph's face.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Banner pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joseph misses the jab. Joseph throws a lazy right hand but Banner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Banner shoots in but Joseph avoids the takedown attempt easily. A low kick from Joseph misses and Joseph takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Joseph lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Banner tries to clinch up. Banner looks for a takedown but Joseph sprawls well. Joseph jabbing away but nothing is landing. Banner fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Alvarez Banner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Banner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Joseph is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Banner scores with a couple of nice shots.

Banner tries to pass to full mount but Joseph defends it. Joseph has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Banner is working away from the top position though. Banner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Joseph's head. Banner wants to pass the guard but Joseph is defending well.

Joseph is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Banner defends well. Joseph keeping full guard, as Banner tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Banner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Joseph can do to turn this around? Banner passes Joseph's left leg - he's now in half guard. Banner passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Joseph! Bruce Alvarez Banner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Banner raining down shots from the mount!
And that's the end of the fight! Bruce Alvarez Banner showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Banner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
