Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Pope (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kowalski's choice of entrance music: Reptile Theme. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karl Pope!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Roman Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pope blocks a head kick by Kowalski.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pope throws a looping overhand right but Kowalski ducks down to avoid it.

Pope bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Pope shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kowalski but Kowalski pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kowalski has Pope pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Kowalski pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pope tumbling to the mat - Kowalski dives into Pope's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kowalski looks up at the clock and then as Pope takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Kowalski smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kowalski looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Pope!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kowalski goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pope has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Kowalski but great work by Pope.

Pope stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kowalski swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Pope decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Kowalski is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Karl Pope.
Well Kowalski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
