Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Icaro Asas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maubee Away (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Away has chosen Rude Boy Dreams as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Icaro Asas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Maubee Away! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Away dives in and scores a takedown into Asas's guard. Away trying to control but Asas is working from the bottom. Asas preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Away postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Asas is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Asas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Away defends it easily. Away wants to control from the top but Asas keeps moving. Away with a flurry of punches that miss. Away trying to control the position from guard on top but Asas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Asas looking for a guillotine here but Away defends easily.
Away scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Away cracks Asas with a solid left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Away's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Away throws a big elbow that misses. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Asas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Away doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Away manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Asas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Away stands up over Asas, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Asas is looking for a triangle but Away pushes his legs off easily.
Away landing with the ground and pound. Away scoring with punches to the head and body. Away passes easily into side control. Nice work. Away scores with punches from side control. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Away lands a nice forearm strike. Asas takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Away connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Asas some visible discomfort.
Away lands a nice forearm strike. Away wants to lay and pray for a moment but Asas keeps working. Asas is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Away working the head and body with strikes. Away lands an elbow. Asas tries to buck Away off but Away is having none of it. Away tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Away lands a few punches from side control. Away scoring with punches from side control. Away wants to control but Asas is keeping him busy. Away scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Asas to see if he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Away is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Asas knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Away cracks Asas with a big right hand but Asas just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Asas is looking for a sweep. Away lands a nice forearm strike. This has been an exciting period of action! Asas is not content to let Away control the position. Asas tries to improve position but can't. Away landing a few strikes. Away scores with punches from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Away tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Away has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Away scores with punches from side control. Asas striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Away is putting a hurting on Asas here, landing some big shots from side control. Away is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Asas has escaped the position, nice work there. Asas can't do much from the bottom here. Asas tries to strike from the bottom but misses. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Away is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Asas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Away wants to lay and pray for a moment but Asas keeps working. Away has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Asas takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Maubee Away dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Away fails with the takedown. Asas gets in close and instigates a clinch. Away drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Asas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Icaro Asas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Away is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Asas is defending well. Asas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nice cross by Asas. Away shoots in looking for a takedown but Asas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Away's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Asas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Away swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's one minute gone in the round. Away tries to score a power double leg takedown but Asas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Away somewhat. A jab from Asas finds it's way through Away's defenses. The fighters circle momentarily. Asas darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Away shoots in and bounces Asas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Away wants to pass the guard but Asas is keeping the position. Asas looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Away has picked Asas up and slammed him! Asas can't keep hold of the triangle and Away manages to pass to side control! Away lands some shots froms side control. Away working the ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Away working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Asas sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Asas looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Asas looking for submissions off his back. Away is keen to just control but Asas is a slippery customer. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Away connects with a nice short shot to Asas's temple. Asas taking some punishment here, with Away in his half guard. Asas punching from the bottom.
Away has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Asas defend it? Away steps over the head and cranks it - Asas is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Away!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Maubee Away! Maubee Away seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
