Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Tremaine! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Killa! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Killa. No joy for Tremaine on that attempt. Tremaine tries a head kick but it misses.
Killa drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Killa trying to control but Tremaine is working from the bottom. Tremaine looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Killa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Killa preventing the sweep. Tremaine looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tremaine has a closed guard, preventing Killa from standing up. Tremaine looking for a guillotine here but Killa defends easily.
Killa tries to free his leg and advance position but Tremaine is retaining full guard. Tremaine is looking for a triangle but Killa pushes his legs off easily.
Killa pushes down on Tremaine's leg and manages to get into half guard. Killa is pressing down on Tremaine's thigh, looking to free his foot. Tremaine is holding on for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Killa missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Killa is looking for a kimura here.
Tremaine regains full guard. Nicely done. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tremaine tries to land a sweep but no joy. Killa trying to control but Tremaine is working from the bottom. Killa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Tremaine is breathing heavily. Tremaine wants to sweep here but Killa controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Tremaine had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Killa is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tremaine Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Killa's back instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Killa tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Killa can't escape the position.
Killa is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Killa tries to lock up and control but Tremaine gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Killa tries to reverse the position but Tremaine maintains control. Tremaine forces the positional change into back control. Tremaine looking for the choke from the back. Killa tries to roll but Tremaine sticks to his back.
Tremaine looking for the choke but no joy. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Killa won't enjoy being in this position. Tremaine looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Killa is tapping - it's over boys! Tremaine picks up the submission victory!
