The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Drominov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Drominov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Katarn sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Drominov somewhat.
Katarn connects with the punch.

It looks like Ronaldo Drominov has been cut.

Drominov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Katarn quickly recovers to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Katarn can do anything to dispel that myth.
Drominov wants to take a breather but Katarn is having none of it.
Katarn is looking to escape.
Drominov is looking to advance position but Katarn won't allow it.

Drominov wants to work for an arm triangle but Katarn is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Drominov wants to lay and pray for a moment but Katarn keeps working.

Drominov wants to pass to mount but Katarn is defending the position.

Katarn trying to hold on to Drominov's head to control him but Drominov postures up.
Drominov thows a huge punch but Katarn dodges it nicely.

Drominov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Drominov thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Katarn's head.
Katarn keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Katarn is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Drominov has latched onto it... Big trouble! Drominov pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Katarn is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Drominov!
