The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Seu Braga and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Williams sprawls well initially but Souza persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Williams works his way to full guard. Good work.
Williams looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Souza has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Williams is proving hard to escape from.
Williams is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Martin Williams just wasn't active enough.
Souza tries a head kick but it misses.
Souza fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Williams sprawls well initially but Souza persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Williams is trying to control but can't.
Souza perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Souza fails with an attempt to clinch.
Souza is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Souza moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Souza closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Williams to the mat! Williams manages to get full guard.
Souza wants to get up but he can't break Williams's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Souza is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Murilo Souza was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Souza closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Williams quickly recovers to half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Souza thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Williams's head.
Williams is looking to improve his position.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Williams uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Souza.
Souza throws a head kick that misses.
Williams will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Williams bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Williams tries to land a front kick but Souza steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Souza throws a sloppy head kick and Williams moves out of range easily.
Williams throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Souza on the side of the head.
It looks like Murilo Souza has been cut.
Williams throws a right and a left that both miss.
Williams keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Souza.
Souza slaps away a takedown attempt from Williams, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Williams misses with a straight right.
A head kick misses from Souza.
Williams fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Souza is looking to clinch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Souza darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Williams blocks a jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Souza misses with a straight right.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Williams lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Williams.
Souza is rocked!
A big right followed by a crushing left from Williams knocks Souza out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
