Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Gore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Vargas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bjorn Gore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ryan Vargas!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gore misses the shot to the body.
Gore takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Vargas scores with a punch to the head.
Ryan Vargas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vargas throws a leg kick but Gore sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Gore fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Vargas chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Vargas connects with a crisp jab.
Vargas lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gore's sensitive parts.

Gore closes the distance and pushes Vargas back into the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Gore gets control of Vargas's arms and successfully pulls guard. Gore will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Gore is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Gore had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vargas defends it easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vargas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ryan Vargas.
Gore avoids the head kick by Vargas.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gore.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bjorn Gore. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gore fails to land the takedown.
Gore looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Vargas throws a body punch but Gore moves out of range.
Left hook, right uppercut from Vargas.
Gore shoots in but Vargas avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Vargas swings for the body but Gore moves out of range.
Vargas lands with a kick to the temple. Gore shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gore looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Gore looks to score with a jab to the body but Vargas is just out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ryan Vargas dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Vargas blocks a head kick by Gore.
Gore has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Vargas.
Vargas clobbers Gore with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Horrible takedown by Gore or perhaps it was just good defense by Vargas which made him look bad.
Vargas goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Gore avoids the body shot from Vargas.
Vargas fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gore has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Vargas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gore.

Vargas jabs Gore to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Gore misses with a wild body shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Gore checks a leg kick.
Gore throws a sloppy head kick and Vargas moves out of range easily.
Gore throws a body punch but Vargas moves out of range.
Gore closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vargas circles away.
Vargas uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Gore misses with a left hand
and Vargas counters with a nice leg kick.
Vargas works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vargas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gore moves away.
Gore shoots in for a takedown but Vargas shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bjorn Gore. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gore dives in and grabs Vargas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vargas pushes down on Gore's head and hops out.
Ryan Vargas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vargas lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gore's sensitive parts.
Vargas cracks Gore with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Gore walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gore shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Vargas sizes up Gore with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Vargas lands a big head kick that sends Gore tumbling to the mat! Vargas takes a step backwards and waves Gore back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Gore is rocked!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Vargas cracks Gore with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Vargas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Gore to stand back up!
Oh Gore is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vargas keeps the fight on the outside.
Gore fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vargas manages to avoid it.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Vargas! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ryan Vargas!
