Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richie Walpole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Joaquin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rory Joaquin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Richie Walpole! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rory Joaquin! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Dmitry Maklakov and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walpole cracks Joaquin with a right hand to the side of the head.
It looks like Rory Joaquin has been cut. Walpole misses with a kick to the body.
Walpole pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Joaquin misses with an attempted mid kick.
Joaquin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Joaquin not doing much here.
Joaquin postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Walpole to stand up. Joaquin wants to clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Horrible takedown by Joaquin or perhaps it was just good defense by Walpole which made him look bad. Richie Walpole is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Joaquin manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Walpole on his heels. He'll look to pass Walpole's guard now, I'm sure. Walpole utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Walpole is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Walpole is working hard here to advance position. Joaquin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walpole swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joaquin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Joaquin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Rory Joaquin. Joaquin looking for a takedown here - he's got it. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joaquin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Joaquin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. It looks like Joaquin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rory Joaquin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Joaquin. Walpole is trying to escape the position but Joaquin is controlling the position. Walpole is looking to regain half guard here but Joaquin keeps moving and retains side control. Walpole managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Joaquin.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walpole is looking for a sweep. Joaquin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Joaquin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Joaquin in side control, just content to control the action for now. Walpole might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Joaquin works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joaquin scores with a takedown into Walpole's guard. Joaquin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Joaquin ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Walpole moves away. Walpole buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Joaquin shoots for a takedown but Walpole saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Walpole is looking to slow Joaquin down with leg kicks. Walpole lands a jab to the nose. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Joaquin shoots in but no luck this time. A nice leg kick lands there from Walpole. Joaquin is breathing heavily. Walpole moves in looking to clinch but Joaquin pushes him off. Walpole throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walpole throws out a leg kick but Joaquin moves out of range and Walpole only half commits. Joaquin is looking to clinch but Walpole is avoiding it.
Walpole cracks a nice hook into Joaquin's ribs. Joaquin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Walpole looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Walpole looks to move to half guard but instead Joaquin has passed into mount! Damn! Walpole knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Joaquin on the ground. Walpole is desperately trying to improve his position but Joaquin has a good base and remains in mount. Joaquin goes for an armbar but Walpole turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Walpole. Joaquin throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Walpole tries to free his leg and advance position but Joaquin is retaining full guard. Joaquin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Walpole. Walpole trying to control the position from guard on top but Joaquin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Walpole wants to pass the guard but Joaquin is keeping the position. Joaquin pulls Walpole in close to his closed guard and prevents Walpole from doing any damage or advancing position. Walpole drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Joaquin dives on top into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joaquin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Walpole connects with an inside leg kick. Walpole tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Joaquin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Joaquin is pushing down on Walpole's leg trying to pass to half guard. Walpole is fighting to maintain full guard but Joaquin has managed to sneak the leg through. Joaquin sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walpole wants to control but Joaquin is keeping busy.
Walpole regains full guard. Nicely done. Walpole avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Joaquin controls from within his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Joaquin gets to his feet - Walpole follows without any prompting. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Rory Joaquin will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Rory Joaquin's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Joaquin throws a series of punches but Walpole moves out of range. Joaquin shoots in for a takedown but Walpole shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Walpole, right into the meat.
Rory Joaquin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Joaquin chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Walpole can pounce on him.
Joaquin moves out of range of the body kick from Walpole.
Walpole connects with a right hand. Joaquin shakes it off. Walpole fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Joaquin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Walpole regains half guard. Joaquin trying to control from half guard but Walpole is working away. Joaquin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Joaquin content to control rather than advance.

Joaquin working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Joaquin passes to full mount! Walpole working to try and regain half guard.
Richie Walpole has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Joaquin working some short elbows here. He postures up to throw some more ground and pound but Walpole slips a leg through to get back to half guard. Nice work.
Walpole wants to get back to full guard. Joaquin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Joaquin is working for a kimura here but Walpole manages to reverse the position and he's now in Joaquin's guard.
Walpole has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Joaquin is looking for a triangle but Walpole pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Joaquin trying to keep a closed guard but Walpole is proving a slippery customer.
Walpole trying to control the position from guard on top but Joaquin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Walpole throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walpole postures up.
Joaquin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Joaquin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Walpole. Walpole is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Joaquin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Joaquin has escaped and now he's on top! Joaquin wants to pass the guard but Walpole is keeping the position.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rory Joaquin. I've got Joaquin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
