Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Keijo Kuosmanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keni Susi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Susi's choice of entrance music: Metallica - Hero of the Day. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keijo Kuosmanen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Keni Susi! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kuosmanen gets the takedown into side control. You can see the frustration on Susi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Susi is looking to reverse the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Susi is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The strikes coming from Kuosmanen are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Susi is trying to improve his position. Susi prevents Kuosmanen from improving position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Susi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Susi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kuosmanen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kuosmanen regains half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kuosmanen tries to roll over but Susi keeps him under control. Kuosmanen is defending against the submission attempts here by Susi.
Kuosmanen is looking for a sweep. Susi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Susi sitting and controlling from the half guard. Susi wants to pass to mount but Kuosmanen is defending the position. Susi is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Kuosmanen is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kuosmanen is looking to control Susi's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kuosmanen avoid being mounted?
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Kuosmanen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Susi's guard. Kuosmanen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kuosmanen trying to control but Susi is working from the bottom. Kuosmanen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kuosmanen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuosmanen trying to control the position from guard on top but Susi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Susi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Kuosmanen! Susi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kuosmanen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Kuosmanen holds on for dear life, controlling Susi's posture momentarily. Kuosmanen is looking to get to half guard. Susi goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Kuosmanen turns into him and now he's in Susi's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kuosmanen is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Susi has managed to free his arm - good work. Kuosmanen is working for a kimura but Susi is defending it quite comfortably.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kuosmanen prevents Susi from improving his position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kuosmanen in particular looking to stall. Susi wants to get back to full guard. Kuosmanen is working for a kimura but Susi is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Susi looking for submissions off his back.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kuosmanen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kuosmanen lands in his opponent's guard. Susi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kuosmanen looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuosmanen trying to control the position from guard on top but Susi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Susi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kuosmanen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Susi throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kuosmanen is stalling in the full guard. Kuosmanen wants to control from the top but Susi keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kuosmanen wants to pass the guard but Susi is keeping the position. Kuosmanen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Susi keeping moving, preventing Kuosmanen from controlling successfully. Susi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kuosmanen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kuosmanen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Kuosmanen gets to his feet. Susi looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Kuosmanen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Susi sprawls well initially but Kuosmanen persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Susi has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kuosmanen is working away from the top position though. Susi is not content to let Kuosmanen control the position. Susi actively working from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Susi wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kuosmanen passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Susi! Susi tries to get back to half guard but can't. Susi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Kuosmanen wants to control the pace but Susi is squirming around nicely. Kuosmanen prevents Susi from getting the reversal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Susi regains half guard. Susi is pressing down on Kuosmanen's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Susi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Kuosmanen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kuosmanen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Susi for as long as he can get away with. Kuosmanen drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kuosmanen jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Susi looking for a triangle here. Kuosmanen is fighting it but it looks tight! Susi pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Kuosmanen is tapping out - this one is all over!
