Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leighton Matias (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Samba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matias comes to the cage accompanied by Killing In The Name. The crowd seem to be enjoying Samba's choice of entrance music: Bezerker by Love Among Freaks. Leighton Matias could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Christopher Samba's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Leighton Matias! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Christopher Samba! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Samba feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Matiass jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! A bone on bone clash there as Matias blocks the leg kick.

Matias tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Matias fails with an attempt to clinch.

It looks like Leighton Matias has been cut. Matias slips a jab from Samba. Matias tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Matias looks to clinch and Samba counters with an outside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Samba lands with a kick to the ribs.
Samba wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. That kick from Samba tenderised Matias's leg. Matias is trying to keep his angry face on. Matias is breathing heavily. Matias walks into a jab. Matias throws a head kick that misses. Samba moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Samba rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Matias moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Samba throws a right and a left that both miss. Samba lands with a nice low kick. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Matias drops his hands momentarily and Samba takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A combination from Samba does no damage. Matias tries to clinch up but Samba circles away and keeps his distance. Samba moves out of range as Matias strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Samba dominated that round. The cut man is working on Leighton Matias's cut. That's time! Matias's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Samba closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Matias is not content to let Samba control the position. Matias stops Samba from passing to mount. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Samba. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Matias avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Samba. Samba has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Matias struggling a bit here. An elbow from Samba crashes against the mat.
Samba wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Matias, who protects the arm well. Samba fails to land a wild elbow strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samba lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Matias down.
Samba creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Matias sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Samba creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Samba tries for a kimura but Matias is defending well. Samba looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Samba looks up at the clock and then as Matias takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Samba smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Matias takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Samba throws a strike but Matias rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Samba not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Matias tries to clinch up. Leighton Matias has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Christopher Samba seems to be getting the better of the standup.

And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Samba comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Samba has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Christopher Samba! Christopher Samba spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
