Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ty Angle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Fuentes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fuentes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Transplants - Killafornia. Pedro Fuentes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ty Angle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Fuentes! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angle closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Fuentes did well to prevent Angle getting side control. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Angle is looking for a kimura but Fuentes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Angle to get the leverage. Angle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Angle wants to control but Fuentes is keeping him busy. Angle throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Fuentes wants to improve his position but Angle is controlling well.
Angle wants to work for an arm triangle but Fuentes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Fuentes wants to get back to full guard. Fuentes wants to control but Angle is keeping busy.
Angle is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fuentes has managed to free his arm - good work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Angle is working for a kimura but Fuentes is defending it quite comfortably.
Angle is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fuentes is just riding it out for now. Angle eventually gives up the hold. Angle missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Angle is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Fuentes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Angle is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Fuentes has managed to free his arm - good work. Angle throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Fuentes to regain full guard. Angle throwing strikes from guard but Fuentes blocks nicely. Angle drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Fuentes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Angle has Fuentes in his guard. Fuentes tries to free his leg and advance position but Angle is retaining full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Angle keeping moving, preventing Fuentes from controlling successfully. Angle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Fuentes sitting in guard, not really doing much. Angle looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fuentes wants to get up but he can't break Angle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Fuentes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Fuentes is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Angle has his foot on Fuentes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fuentes works his way back into a safe position though. Angle has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Fuentes should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Angle has tightened it up now! Fuentes should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
