Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Germain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tzvetvan Todorov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Daniel Germain has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Germain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tzvetvan Todorov!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Germain misses with a wild combination.
Germain wants to clinch up but Todorov keeps it at a distance.

and Todorov counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Todorov.

Germain manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Todorov manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Germain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Germain drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Germain jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Todorov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Germain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Todorov should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Todorov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Germain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Todorov connects with a nice short shot to Germain's temple.

Todorov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Todorov forces his way into half guard.
Germain wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tzvetvan Todorov dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Germain tries to clinch up but Todorov circles away and keeps his distance.

Todorov has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Germain to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Todorov is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Germain pulls down on the head and he's put Todorov to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Daniel Germain!
A relieved looking Daniel Germain thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
