Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tapem Snapem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Teppo Kompau! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kompau forces Snapem back against the cage and clinches. Kompau breaks the clinch.
Kompau ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Snapem moves away. Snapem tries a low kick but Kompau avoids it. Snapem tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kompau sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Snapem somewhat. Snapem misses the jab. Kompau is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kompau drives through with a takedown into Snapem's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kompau wants to stand but Snapem is controlling his posture from full guard. Snapem trying to keep a closed guard but Kompau is proving a slippery customer.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Snapem punching from mount but Kompau doing a good job of avoiding damage. Snapem wants to control the pace but Kompau is squirming around nicely. Kompau holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Snapem tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Snapem is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Kompau can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Snapem shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Snapem looks for a takedown but Kompau sprawls well. Kompau throws a combination. Snapem tries to block but a couple of punches get through. A chopping leg kick lands by Kompau. Kompau instigates a clinch. Snapem misses with a punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Snapem has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kompau after a bit of a struggle. Snapem wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kompau gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Snapem not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Snapem thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kompau's head. Kompau pushes Snapem off looking to stand but Snapem dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kompau is breathing heavily. Snapem thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Snapem tries to sprawl but Kompau drives through with a takedown into half guard. Snapem has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Snapem is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kompau's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kompau's back! Kompau takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Snapem throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch. Kompau covering up well under a barage of strikes. Kompau staying busy and making it hard for Snapem to control. Kompau wants to get back to his feet. Snapem is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Kompau up.

Teppo Kompau has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Snapem thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kompau is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
And that's the end of the fight! Tapem Snapem showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Snapem, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
