Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Sharp is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rob Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tony Sharp!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Gracie shoots in for a double leg but Sharp sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gracie fails in his attempt to clinch.
A shot to the liver by Sharp. Beautiful body shot.
Sharp's jab looks to have found its range, popping Gracie under the eye.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sharp clinches up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Sharp's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sharp has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gracie tries to stall but Sharp uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Sharp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gracie shoots in looking for a takedown but Sharp manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gracie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gracie misses with a two punch combination.

Sharp closes the distance and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Sharp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gracie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sharp circles away quickly and effectively.
Sharp fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.
Sharp is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gracie.
Sharp looks to land a left hand but Gracie moved out of range nicely.
Sharp misses with a hook. Gracie ducked under it nicely.
Sharp dodges the punch combination from Gracie.
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sharp.
Sharp looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
Sharp misses with a looping right.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sharp clinches with his opponent.

Sharp manages to break the clinch.
Sharp loads up on a big right hand but Gracie slips the punch.
Gracie slips a jab from Sharp.
Sharp misses the jab.
Sharp pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Sharp leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rob Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gracie avoids the body shot from Sharp.
Sharp thows a left - swing and a miss!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gracie tries to clinch but Sharp is having none of it.
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Gracie takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A big right from Sharp misses.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Gracie. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Sharp gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Sharp is looking to break free of the clinch but Gracie has double underhooks.

Sharp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sharp lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sharp to score with a decent uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sharp closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.

Sharp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Some wild striking there from Gracie.
Sharp might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.


It looks like Rob Gracie has been cut.
Gracie is breathing heavily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gracie drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sharp gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Sharp manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tony Sharp dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rob Gracie's cut.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Gracie staying out of range there.
Gracie misses with the combination.
Tony Sharp seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie dives in and grabs Sharp's left leg, looking for a takedown. Sharp pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out.
Gracie works over Sharp's head and body with a nice combination.
Sharp just misses with a punch to the body.
Gracie takes a jab right on the kisser.

Sharp feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Gracie sprawling to the canvas! Gracie rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Sharp finish him?!


Gracie is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gracie tries to land a front kick but Sharp steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sharp missing with a left hand there. Gracie was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Sharp drops Gracie with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gracie looks back up at him and smiles so Sharp waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sharp is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Gracie flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Gracie is out cold! Sharp holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tony Sharp!
