And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Aldo Jr!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo Jr avoids the head kick by Green.
Green misses with a takedown attempt

and Aldo Jr moves into the clinch.

Green tries to stand but Aldo Jr is controlling from the bottom.

Green decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Aldo Jr, up you get!
Green shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aldo Jr as he jumps to the side.
Green misses with a head kick.
Aldo Jr should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Aldo Jr shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Green is trying to defend but Aldo Jr finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Aldo Jr is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Green!

Green is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Green manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Well, if Aldo Jr is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Aldo Jr drops back looking for a leg! Green is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Green manages to kick Aldo Jr off! Aldo Jr jumps back into Green's guard.

Aldo Jr gets to his feet - Green follows without any prompting.
Green throws a front kick aimed at Aldo Jr's knee but Aldo Jr avoids it well.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Aldo Jr has eaten all the pies!
Green tries to clinch up but Aldo Jr circles away and keeps his distance.
Aldo Jr tries to close the distance and clinch but Green swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aldo Jr is looking to clinch but Green is avoiding it.

Aldo Jr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Green is breathing heavily.

Aldo Jr thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Green's head.

Aldo Jr tries to pass to full mount but Green defends it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Aldo Jr drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Green throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Green looking for a sweep. Not yet Green, not yet.

Aldo Jr stands up and waves to Green to follow him.
Green tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Green gets caught napping as Aldo Jr dives in and scores a takedown. Green manages to retain guard.

Aldo Jr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Green defends it easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aldo Jr seems keen to control Green's posture.
Jose Aldo Jr has got the better of the ground game so far.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

and Green counters by moving into the clinch.
Green wants to get back to striking at distance but Aldo Jr won't allow it.
Green has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Aldo Jr avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Aldo Jr tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Aldo Jr has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Green is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bobby Green has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jose Aldo Jr.
Green blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Green has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Aldo Jr after a bit of a struggle.
Aldo Jr has had enough of the clinch but Green keeps him there for the moment.

Aldo Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Green. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's time! Green's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. And we move into the final round!


The fight stays on the outside here - Aldo Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Green is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Green bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aldo Jr's guard.

Aldo Jr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Green can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Green feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Aldo Jr's calf.
Aldo Jr lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Green circles away quickly and effectively.

and Aldo Jr counters with a nice double leg into side control. Green won't be happy with that.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Green tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Aldo Jr wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jose Aldo Jr is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jose Aldo Jr wasn't active enough on the ground.

Aldo Jr bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Well Aldo Jr has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
