Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tyler Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo Nastie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nastie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Roots Bloody Roots by Sepultura kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bo Nastie!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heath tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nastie swivels and escapes.

Heath tries to keep at a distance but Nastie has taken the fight into the clinch.
Nastie lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Heath.

Nastie has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Heath is trying to keep an underhook but Nastie manages to get the takedown into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Nastie takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Nastie is looking for a kimura but Heath is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Nastie to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nastie clinches up against the cage.
Nastie works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Nastie must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Heath escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nastie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Heath is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Heath wants to finish this one by submission but Nastie is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Heath.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tyler Heath will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Nastie is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Heath can't fight it off and eventually Nastie manages to take the fight to the floor. Heath looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Heath had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Nastie is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Heath Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Nastie's back instead.
Nastie wants to control his opponent's hands but Heath gets his hands free.

Heath has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Nastie is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Heath doesn't have the hooks in and Nastie manages to turn into his guard.
Tyler Heath overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Heath working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nastie doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nastie manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nastie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nastie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Heath looking to break Nastie's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Nastie remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Heath will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Nastie won't enjoy being in this position. Heath looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Nastie is tapping - it's over boys! Heath picks up the submission victory!
