Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rory Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor McManus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into the arena with Youssoupha - Ne Compare Pas blaring out of the sound system. McManus has chosen Jeff Danna - 'The Blood of Cú Chulainn' as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rory Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor McManus! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz closes the distance and pushes McManus back into the cage. McManus avoiding damage as Diaz throws knees to the body.

McManus lands a right hand. Diaz lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Diaz wants to take the fight to the mat but McManus manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. McManus lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. McManus misses with a body punch.
McManus slowing the pace effectively. Diaz throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Diaz throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Diaz pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. McManus gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Diaz wants to control but McManus is keeping busy and won't allow it. McManus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diaz keeps working. McManus trying to pass the guard but Diaz defending well. Diaz wants to get back to full guard. Diaz is positioning himself well to prevent McManus advancing to mount. Diaz is not content to let McManus control the position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Sloppy strikes from Diaz. Those never looked like landing. McManus waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Diaz. Diaz tries to score a power double leg takedown but McManus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Diaz somewhat. Diaz on the wrong end of a nice jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz takes one on the button. Diaz connects with a solid leg kick. Diaz cracks McManus with a good jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! McManus pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Diaz fails with an attempt to clinch.
McManus's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Diaz connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! McManus scrambles back to his feet. McManus doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. McManus on the wrong end of a nice hook. Diaz gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Diaz looks to throw the jab but McManus is out of range. Diaz connects with a right hand. McManus shakes it off. McManus gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz looks to throw the jab but McManus is out of range. McManus tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Diaz thows a body shot but no joy. McManus throws a head kick but Diaz moves out of range.
McManus fails to land the takedown. McManus throws a sloppy body shot
and Diaz counters with a thumping low kick. McManus keeps the fight on the outside. McManus just misses with a punch to the body.
McManus lands a nice looking body shot.
McManus throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Diaz's waist but Diaz gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McManus off to one side. Diaz closes the distance and pushes McManus back into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McManus taking a breather. Diaz lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Diaz looks to throw an elbow but misses. McManus tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Diaz's elbow. McManus working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Diaz is rocked! Come on McManus - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Oh Diaz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McManus breaks the clinch.
Diaz tries to get into range but McManus steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Diaz! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! McManus scores the big KO victory!
