Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Spezza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valko Dragov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragov has chosen Go to Sleep - Eminem, Obie Trice, & DMX as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jason Spezza has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Spezza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Valko Dragov! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dragov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Spezza moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Spezza defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Dragov. Dragov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Spezza counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Spezza throws an overhand right that lands on Dragov's shoulder, as Dragov tries to avoid the shot. Spezza gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dragov to score an easy takedown into full guard. Dragov trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Spezza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dragov on the ground. Dragov throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Spezza working a defensive guard here.
Dragov pushes down on Spezza's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dragov passes the guard and advances to mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Spezza is desperately trying to improve his position but Dragov has a good base and remains in mount. Dragov looking to finish with strikes here!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Spezza wants to hold on but Dragov pushes him away. Dragov throwing strikes here but Spezza is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Dragov pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Dragov thowing shots but they're missing. Dragov tries to control but Spezza wriggling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dragov looking to finish with strikes here!
Spezza sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Dragov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Spezza is refusing to be controlled, as Dragov sits in half guard. Spezza tries to get to full guard but Dragov has control of the leg. Spezza wants to control but Dragov is keeping busy.
Dragov passes to side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dragov throws a strike aimed at the side of Spezza's head but Spezza avoids it well. Dragov creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Spezza sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Dragov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Spezza down.
Dragov in the domination position with Spezza hanging on. Dragov misses with the ground and pound. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Dragov trying to control the position but Spezza is working away. Dragov looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Valko Dragov dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Dragov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spezza swivels and escapes. Spezza finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dragov throws a solid leg kick but Spezza takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Dragov. Dragov looks for a takedown but Spezza sprawls well. Spezza misses with a looping right. No luck for Dragov with that takedown attempt. Jason Spezza has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valko Dragov. Dragov walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dragov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Spezza circles away. Dragov shoots for a double leg takedown but Spezza sprawls well. He's pushed Dragov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Dragov misses the shot to the body. Dragov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Dragov throws a wild body kick that Spezza sees coming a mile off. Spezza misses with a hook. Spezza stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spezza wants it to stay on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dragov shoots in for a double leg but Spezza sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Spezza slaps away a takedown attempt from Dragov, before circling back to the center of the mat. A combination from Spezza does no damage. Spezza keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Dragov fails to land the takedown. A slow jab from Spezza misses its intended target. Dragov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spezza blocks a leg kick. Dragov takes the fight into the clinch. Spezza tries to break free but Dragov pushes him back against the cage. Dragov is looking to break free of the clinch but Spezza has double underhooks. Dragov taking a breather. Dragov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Spezza after a bit of a struggle. Spezza breaks from the clinch.
Dragov shoots in and drives through. Spezza sprawls well. Dragov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Dragov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Spezza.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spezza lands an overhand right. Dragov looks for a takedown but Spezza sprawls well. Jason Spezza is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dragov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spezza as he avoids it easily. Jason Spezza is winning the standup battle so far. Spezza thuds his right hand into Dragov's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Spezza!
Dragov is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Dragov with a poor takedown and Spezza counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Dragov badly! Spezza follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Dragov out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Spezza finished him against the cage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jason Spezza! After the fight, Jason Spezza was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
