Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Yoshimitsu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ieyan Reve! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yoshimitsu shoots for a double leg takedown but Reve sprawls well. He's pushed Yoshimitsu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Yoshimitsu is trying hard to land a takedown here. Reve sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Reve goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Reve doesn't succeed with the takedown and Yoshimitsu counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Reve's guard now. Yoshimitsu keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Reve's head. Yoshimitsu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Reve has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Yoshimitsu has managed to get both his arms back between Reve's legs - danger averted. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Yoshimitsu scoring with punches to the head and body. Reve is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Reve keeping moving, preventing Yoshimitsu from controlling successfully. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yoshimitsu has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reve avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Yoshimitsu. Yoshimitsu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Reve doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Yoshimitsu. Yoshimitsu thows a huge punch but Reve dodges it nicely.

Reve is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Reve trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Reve taking shots to the head. Yoshimitsu is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Reve is surviving well by controlling Yoshimitsu's body position as best he can. Yoshimitsu with the ground and pound from mount. Yoshimitsu wants to control the pace but Reve is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu landing strikes from the mount and Reve is in trouble! Yoshimitsu landing punches. Yoshimitsu lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reve hang on? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Yoshimitsu is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Reve can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Yoshimitsu lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reve hang on? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reve shoots in for a double leg but Yoshimitsu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. No joy there for Reve, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Yoshimitsu looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Reve! Yoshimitsu punishing his opponent with strikes. Yoshimitsu lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Reve hang on? Yoshimitsu lands a big elbow. Yoshimitsu goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Reve turns into him and now he's in Yoshimitsu's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshimitsu wants to get back to his feet but Reve is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Yoshimitsu pulls Reve in close to prevent any damage. Reve looking to pass the guard. Reve prevents Yoshimitsu from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Reve swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Reve misses with a jab, cross combination.
Yoshimitsu tries to score a power double leg takedown but Reve sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Yoshimitsu somewhat. Reve pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Yoshimitsu back to the cage. Reve follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Reve scores with a takedown into Yoshimitsu's guard. Reve being controlled here momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu working for submissions but it's allowed Reve to get to half guard.
Reve looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Yoshimitsu manages to get to full guard.
Reve must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu is adopting a defensive guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryo Yoshimitsu dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

That's one minute gone in the round. Reve defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Yoshimitsu. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryo Yoshimitsu. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reve throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Yoshimitsu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The ground and pound from Yoshimitsu seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Reve is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Yoshimitsu looks up at the clock and then as Reve takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Yoshimitsu smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Yoshimitsu throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Yoshimitsu working away. Reve dodges the ground and pound from Yoshimitsu. Ryo Yoshimitsu overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Reve is trying to get back to half guard. Reve takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Reve takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yoshimitsu wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Reve, who protects the arm well. Yoshimitsu with a couple of short strikes. Ieyan Reve has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ryo Yoshimitsu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Yoshimitsu looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryo Yoshimitsu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Yoshimitsu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
