Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ben Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muahi Ohlagando (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ben Askren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Muahi Ohlagando! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Askren closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ohlagando's guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Ohlagando is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Askren is controlling him. Askren missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Askren throwing strikes from guard but Ohlagando blocks nicely. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Ohlagando trying to keep a closed guard but Askren is proving a slippery customer.
Askren is looking to work some ground and pound but Ohlagando has wrist control. Ohlagando has control of Askren's left arm, preventing Askren from doing any damage. Askren is looking to work some ground and pound but Ohlagando has wrist control. Askren tries to free his leg and advance position but Ohlagando is retaining full guard. Askren throwing strikes from guard but Ohlagando blocks nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Askren throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ohlagando works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Askren throwing strikes but missing. Askren preventing the sweep. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ohlagando can do anything to dispel that myth. Ohlagando keeping full guard, as Askren tries to pass. Askren trying to control but Ohlagando is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Askren throws a head kick that misses. Askren shoots in looking for a takedown. Ohlagando tries to sprawl out of it but Askren keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Ohlagando manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ben Askren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Askren attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ohlagando darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Askren looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Askren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ohlagando lands a nice short elbow. Ohlagando looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Askren with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Ohlagando throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Askren trying to control but Ohlagando postures up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Askren regains full guard. Nicely done. Ohlagando loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ohlagando must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Askren looking for a sweep. Not yet Askren, not yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ohlagando makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Askren looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ohlagando avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Askren had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ohlagando defends it easily. Ohlagando trying to control the position from guard on top but Askren is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ohlagando scoring with some ground and pound. Ohlagando takes a decent strike to the side of the head. Askren working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ohlagando. Ohlagando is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Ohlagando throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Askren works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ohlagando in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Askren is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ohlagando defends well. Askren working for a triangle but Ohlagando defends it easily.
Ohlagando has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Askren to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Ohlagando is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Askren pulls down on the head and he's put Ohlagando to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ben Askren! Ben Askren tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
