Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gstring Borad! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike OMalley! The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OMalley gets in close and instigates a clinch. OMalley can't get the takedown.
Borad missing with knees to the body.
Borad with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Borad lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
OMalley is trying to drag Borad to the mat but Borad just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. OMalley fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
OMalley looking to stall.
OMalley on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
OMalley wants a takedown but no success here.
Gstring Borad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike OMalley. OMalley lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
It looks like Gstring Borad has been cut. Borad lands an elbow inside. Knees to the body from Borad.

OMalley has hold of one of Borad's legs. Borad is fighting the takedown attempt but OMalley gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! OMalley wants to stand but Borad is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Borad utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. OMalley advances to half guard. OMalley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Borad has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. OMalley is working away from the top position though. OMalley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Borad sees it coming and defends easily. Borad is trying to control but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. OMalley passes to side control. Borad is not content to let OMalley control the position. Borad is looking for a sweep. OMalley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Borad, who protects the arm well. Borad regains half guard there - taking advantage of OMalley's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. OMalley is working for a submission of some sort.
That's three minutes gone in the round. OMalley is working for a kimura but Borad is defending it quite comfortably.
OMalley working Borad over with strikes. OMalley is looking to take a break and control but Borad is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Borad trying to control from the bottom.
OMalley is looking for a kimura but Borad is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for OMalley to get the leverage. OMalley wants to pass to mount but Borad is defending the position. Borad is trying to maintain the position but OMalley is very close to passing his half guard. OMalley is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Borad looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's five minutes gone in the round. OMalley is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
OMalley seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Borad is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Mike OMalley! A relieved looking Mike OMalley thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
