Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslan Amagov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Thomas Alan! The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Amagov rushes Alan and presses him up against the cage. Alan scores with an uppercut up the middle. A body shot lands from Alan.
Alan lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Alan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Amagov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Amagov kicks off Alan and gets to his feet. Amagov rushes Alan and presses him up against the cage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Alan lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Alan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Amagov is defended easily by Alan. Amagov throws a sloppy head kick and Alan moves out of range easily. Alan gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Amagov works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Alan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Alan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Amagov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Alan controls from within his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Alan wants to control from the top but Amagov keeps moving. Amagov wants to sweep but no luck. Amagov had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Alan defends it easily. Alan postures up and lands a big shot to Amagov's brow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alan is pushing down on Amagov's leg trying to pass to half guard. Amagov is fighting to maintain full guard but Alan has managed to sneak the leg through. Alan lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Alan scoring with strikes to the body and head. Alan drops an elbow to the side of Amagov's head. Alan moves into full mount! Amagov won't be happy about that! Alan lands a big elbow. Amagov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Amagov tries to get out of the position. Alan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Alan landing shots from mount. Alan scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Amagov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Alan wants to control the pace but Amagov is squirming around nicely.

Alan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Alan in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Amagov is working to get back to half guard.
Alan wants to control the pace but Amagov is squirming around nicely. Amagov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. BOOM! Alan connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Alan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Amagov is squirming around, avoiding Alan's attempts to control the action. Amagov tries to reverse the position but Alan maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Amagov can't get the takedown.
Amagov's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Alan working some nice short punches in the clinch. Alan gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Amagov regains guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Amagov wants to sweep but no luck. Alan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Alan connects with a couple of short punches. Alan stopping the sweep attempt from Amagov. Alan trying to control but Amagov is working from the bottom. Alan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alan looking to pass the guard. Alan trying to control but Amagov is working from the bottom. Alan passes Amagov's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Amagov is trying to maintain the position but Alan is very close to passing his half guard. Alan is figuring out what he wants to do next. Amagov tries to kick Alan off but Alan keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Alan is taking a breather. Amagov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Amagov is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alan pulls his head out easily.

Alan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Amagov wants to control but Alan is keeping busy and won't allow it. Amagov regains full guard. Nicely done. Alan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Thomas Alan was stalling too much, according to the referee. Alan clinches. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Alan fails with an attempt to clinch.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Thomas Alan hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Alan throws out a leg kick but Amagov moves out of range and Alan only half commits. Alan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Alan controlling the action here. Amagov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Alan landing with the ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Amagov has his feet on Alan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Alan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Amagov is defended easily by Alan. Thomas Alan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Amagov is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Amagov goes for a takedown attempt but Alan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Alan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Amagov to the ground. Alan is now in Amagov's guard. Amagov working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Alan.

Amagov wants to get back to his feet but Alan is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Alan advances to half guard. Alan controlling the pace. Alan is trying to control. Alan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Alan is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alan connects with a nice short shot to Amagov's temple. Alan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Alan is trying to control. Amagov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Amagov keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Alan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Amagov! Alan lands a big elbow.

And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Alan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Alan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
