Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pencil Neck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clinton Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Neck comes into the arena with Deep Purple - Bad Attitude blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neck fails with a takedown attempt.
Davies shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Neck is trying to defend but Davies finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Neck trying to hold on to Davies's head to control him but Davies postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neck has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Davies can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Davies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Neck. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neck scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Davies fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Neck manages to avoid it.
Neck connects with a good right hand that stumbles Davies. Davies circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Davies lands a nice hook to Neck's body. Neck takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Neck shoots in but Davies avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Pencil Neck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neck's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Davies connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Neck scrambles back to his feet.

Davies wants to hit a switch here but Neck passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Davies there!
Davies has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Neck has the hooks in. Davies is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Neck's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Davies stuffs the takedown attempt from Neck. Neck gets slowly back to his feet.

Davies throws a hook to the side of Neck's head but Neck sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Neck is trying hard to land a takedown here. Davies sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Davies swings for the body but Neck moves out of range.

Neck shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Neck showed some decent athleticism there.

Neck looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Davies with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Neck is trying to work for a kimura but Davies is defending well.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Neck in particular looking to stall.

Neck fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Neck jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Davies is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Davies and Neck has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Neck is looking to take a break and control but Davies is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Neck stands up and beckons Davies to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Davies throws a low kick but Neck avoids it.
Neck gets tackled into the cage by Davies. Davies maintains the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Davies avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Neck tries to close the distance and clinch up but Davies swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Neck changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Davies looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Neck tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Neck has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pencil Neck is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Neck tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Davies swivels and escapes.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davies can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Neck, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
