Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Renato Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank Abott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renato Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Renato Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tank Abott!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abott darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage.

Abott presses Silva against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Abott jumps into guard, dragging Silva to the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Abott, up you get!

Abott cracks Silva with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Abott has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Silva to stand back up!


It looks like Renato Silva has been cut.

Silva pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Abott back to the cage. Silva follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Abott is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Abott can do anything to dispel that myth.

Silva looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Abott feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Silva seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Abott for as long as he can get away with.
