Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kanbei Shimada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shimada comes to the cage accompanied by Party and Bullshit. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kazushi Sakuraba!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shirou Masuda and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Shimada looking to score a takedown here. Sakuraba is defending well but Shimada drives through and ends up in Sakuraba's guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Shimada trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Shimada throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sakuraba works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sakuraba has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shimada can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sakuraba wants to sweep but no luck.
Shimada throwing strikes from guard but Sakuraba blocks nicely.
Shimada missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Shimada advances to half guard.
Sakuraba trying to control from the bottom.
Sakuraba is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Shimada scores with a couple of nice shots.
Sakuraba is pressing down on Shimada's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shimada is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Shimada has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sakuraba is looking to sinch up a triangle. Shimada throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Sakuraba's body to avoid the submission. Sakuraba has instead reached around Shimada's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Sakuraba arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kazushi Sakuraba!
Kazushi Sakuraba decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
