The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Smith fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gibson.
Gibson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Smith lands a big head kick that sends Gibson tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Gibson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Mark Gibson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gibson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Gibson is trying desperately to land a takedown but Smith is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Gibson.
Smith feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gibson's calf.

Smith thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Gibson if he has to take too many more of those.
