PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boyd Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and That Guy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Guy's choice of entrance music: Walk by Pantera. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guy gets caught napping as Lucas dives in and scores a takedown. Guy manages to retain guard.

Lucas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Guy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lucas defends it easily.

Guy tries to buck Lucas off but Lucas is having none of it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Lucas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Lucas seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Guy for as long as he can get away with.

Boyd Lucas has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Guy thows a body kick. Lucas tries to catch it but that hurt him.

Lucas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Lucas shoots in for a double leg but Guy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Guy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Lucas to the ground. Guy is now in Lucas's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lucas is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nice uppercut lands for Guy. That snapped Lucas's head back.
Lucas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Guy swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Guy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Guy showed some decent athleticism there.

Guy wants to work for an arm triangle but Lucas is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Guy is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lucas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lucas has escaped and now he's on top!
