PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Mathison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxipad McGavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathison comes to the cage accompanied by The Sickness. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McGavin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
McGavin throws a strike but Mathison rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Mathison will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
McGavin tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mathison has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McGavin is proving hard to escape from.

McGavin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mathison avoids it really well and circles away.

Mathison seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McGavin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

McGavin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

McGavin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because David Mathison wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
