Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Lister (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kranc Squirel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, David Lister!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kranc Squirel!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Squirel throws a combination that misses
and Lister counters with a lovely shot to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lister is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Squirel has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Squirel is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Squirel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Lister feints and as Squirel raises his hands in defense, Lister changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lister is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lister is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lister passes into half guard.
Squirel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lister. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Squirel makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Lister shoots in and drives through. Squirel sprawls well.

Squirel lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Lister circles away quickly and effectively.
Squirel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Lister counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Lister shoots for a double leg takedown but Squirel sprawls well. He's pushed Lister's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Lister darts in and clinches Squirel up against the cage.
Lister keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Squirel's efforts to push away.

Squirel is trying to push Lister away but Lister has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Lister has hold of one of Squirel's legs. Squirel is fighting the takedown attempt but Lister gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Lister not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lister passes into half guard.
Lister will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lister stops Squirel from getting back to his feet.
Lister moves nicely into side control.
Lister lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Squirel down.

Lister decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Lister will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Squirel misses with a few strikes there.
Lister throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Nice takedown defense from Squirel. No joy for Lister on that attempt.
Squirel throws a nice looking combination but Lister bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Squirel rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lister moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lister moves into range and clinches up with Squirel.

Lister jumps guard and drags Squirel to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Lister looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Squirel would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Squirel stands up and waves to Lister to follow him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Squirel gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lister dodges the punch combination from Squirel.
Lister shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Squirel counters with a series of strikes. Lister will be more careful next time no doubt.

Lister clinches with his opponent.
Lister trying to control the position but instead, Squirel has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lister into the cage.
Lister wants a takedown but no success here.
Squirel is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Squirel manages to break the clinch.

Lister darts in and clinches Squirel up against the cage.

Lister fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Squirel avoids it really well and circles away.

Lister rushes Squirel and presses him up against the cage.
Squirel wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lister has him pressed against the cage.

Squirel manages to break the clinch.

Lister gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Lister is trying to pull guard but Squirel turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Squirel breaks from the clinch.
Squirel throws a right and a left that both miss.

Lister fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Squirel to the ground. Lister is now in Squirel's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Squirel manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Lister makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lister's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lister has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Squirel is looking to stand up but Lister isn't so interested in that idea.
Lister is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Lister slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Squirel is wriggling around trying to escape but Lister has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Squirel taps out and Lister picks up the big win! Great work there by Lister!
