And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bacon looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Putin circles away from the clinch attempt

and Putin moves into the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Putin tries to pull guard but Bacon won't allow it.
Putin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bacon swings wildly with an uppercut but Putin uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bacon turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Bacon manages to end up in side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Putin is trying to improve his position.

Putin wants to control but Bacon postures up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cevada Bacon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Putin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Bacon moves to clinch but Putin breaks away

and Putin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Putin is trying to push Bacon away but Bacon has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Bacon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
No joy there for Putin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bacon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Putin defends it nicely.
Bacon blocks a head kick by Putin.
Bacon finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Bacon stuffs the takedown attempt from Putin. Putin gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimi Putin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bacon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Putin tries to avoid it but Bacon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Putin to the ground. Putin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Putin has Bacon pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Putin pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bacon tumbling to the mat - Putin dives into Bacon's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bacon lands a big shot there that rocks Putin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Cevada Bacon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
