Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spider Trenton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, John The Butcher! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trenton cracks The Butcher with a good jab. The Butcher closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The Butcher is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Trenton is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Trenton is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but The Butcher has just dragged him back down to the mat. Trenton prevents The Butcher from moving into mount. The Butcher looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. The Butcher tries for a kimura but Trenton is defending well. You can see the frustration on Trenton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Butcher tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no The Butcher has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The Butcher is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Trenton has escaped the position, nice work there. Trenton can't do much from the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The Butcher thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The Butcher moves into full mount! Trenton defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from The Butcher.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Butcher has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Trenton is forced to tap!
