Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Riley Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and M J Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marshall comes to the cage accompanied by I Shot the Sheriff by Eric Clapton. Shain has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Riley Marshall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 17 - 1, fighting out of New York, M J Shain! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marshall slaps away a takedown attempt from Shain, before circling back to the center of the mat. Shain misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Marshall.
Marshall lands a slapping body shot.
Marshall throws a jab when Shain was well out of range. Marshall steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shain. Marshall misses with a straight right. The fight stays on the outside here - Marshall looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Marshall looks to land a combination but Shain avoids it well. Marshall slips a jab and a cross from Shain.
Shain throws a looping overhand right but Marshall ducks down to avoid it. Shain takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like M J Shain has been cut. Shain closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marshall to the mat! Marshall manages to get full guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Shain works a leg free and moves into half guard. Shain throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Shain tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marshall knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Shain is taking a breather. Marshall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shain takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Shain prevents Marshall from improving his position. Marshall trying to control but Shain postures up.
Shain is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Shain is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marshall sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Shain working Marshall over with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Marshall wants to stand back up but Shain manages to pass into side control.
Marshall tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Shain wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Shain has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Shain wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marshall, who protects the arm well. This has been an exciting period of action! Marshall gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shain throwing shots but Marshall is blocking nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shain lands strikes from half guard. Shain is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marshall is just riding it out for now. Shain eventually gives up the hold. Marshall wants to get back to his feet. Marshall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shain is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marshall has managed to free his arm - good work. Shain is just content to waste time from the top position. Marshall takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Shain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Marshall is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shain being controlled here momentarily. Marshall is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shain forces his way into half guard. Shain trying to mount his opponent but Marshall defends it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Marshall wants to get back to full guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Marshall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shain is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marshall defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
M J Shain dominated that round. The cut man is working on M J Shain's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Marshall jabs Shain to the body, keeping him at a distance. Marshall uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shain. Marshall throws a right and a left that both miss. Shain slips under a jab from Marshall. Marshall throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Marshall ducks under a wild hook from Shain. Marshall works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Marshall takes a jab right on the kisser.
Marshall lands with a thumping leg kick.
Marshall scores with the left hand. Shain knows he should have avoided that one. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shain lands a nice hook to Marshall's body. Marshall takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. A big left from Shain misses. Marshall displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. That's one minute gone in the round. Marshall throws a big shot that misses. Nice body punch from Shain. Marshall misses with a left hand letting Shain counter with a right hand. Shain throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Marshall misses with a wild combination.
Shain scores with a head kick.
Marshall is rocked! Shain cracks Marshall with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Marshall tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Shain pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Marshall is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
