Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akira Sono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hirokazu Yoshida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Akira Sono has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Sono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hirokazu Yoshida!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshida swings widly with a right hand
and Sono counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Yoshida throws a sloppy head kick and Sono moves out of range easily.
Sono falls off balance throwing a combination
and Yoshida counters with a two punch combo.
Yoshida has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sono.
Nice sprawl there from Yoshida as Sono shoots in.
Sono rushes Yoshida and presses him up against the cage.
Yoshida escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sono keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A head kick from Yoshida lands but Sono takes it in his stride.
It looks like Akira Sono has been cut.

Yoshida pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Sono back to the cage. Yoshida follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Yoshida throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sono stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yoshida is looking for a triangle but Sono pushes his legs off easily.
Yoshida has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Sono wants to control from the top but Yoshida keeps moving.

Sono throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Yoshida works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yoshida lands a nice hook to Sono's body. Sono takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sono crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Yoshida - the referee stops the clock and Sono gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Yoshida. Sono manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Yoshida in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Yoshida lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sono has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sono and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
