Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Venkman!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ritchie Vallens!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Venkman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Venkman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Venkman trying to control the action but Vallens is working from the bottom.

Venkman wants to work for an arm triangle but Vallens is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Vallens tries to get to full guard but Venkman has control of the leg.
Vallens makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vallens.
Vallens wants to improve his position but instead Venkman has moved into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vallens is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Vallens looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Vallens tries to roll over but Venkman keeps him under control.

Vallens has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Venkman escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Venkman!
Venkman looks up at the clock and then as Vallens takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Venkman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Vallens is trying to work for a sweep but Venkman has mounted him!

Vallens is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Venkman looking to finish Vallens with some ground and pound. This is bad for Vallens!
Vallens is trying desperately to improve position.
Vallens looks gassed!

Venkman is working for a guillotine from mount but Vallens frees his head quite easily.
Vallens keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Venkman breaks from Vallens's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Vallens is trying desperately to improve position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vallens defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Venkman.
Vallens is desperately trying to improve his position but Venkman has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Venkman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Venkman gets a takedown into half guard.

Vallens looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Venkman pushes past his half guard into mount!
Vallens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Vallens is looking to improve his position but Venkman isn't that keen on the idea.

Vallens is trying to reverse the position but instead Venkman has taken his back - oops!

Vallens won't enjoy being in this position. Venkman looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Vallens is tapping - it's over boys! Venkman picks up the submission victory!
