Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rapha Brettas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Magnus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rapha Brettas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Simon Magnus! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brettas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Magnus as he avoids it easily. Brettas blocks a low kick nicely. Nice sprawl there from Magnus as Brettas shoots in. Brettas throws a right and a left that both miss. Magnus avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Magnus moves into the clinch successfully.
Magnus has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Brettas stops a takedown attempt from Magnus.
Brettas escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Brettas misses with a head kick.
Brettas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Magnus's waist but Magnus gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Brettas off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rapha Brettas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brettas fails to land the takedown. Brettas darts in trying to clinch and Magnus counters with a left to the body. A head kick misses from Brettas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brettas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Magnus. Brettas shoots for a double leg takedown but Magnus sprawls well. He's pushed Brettas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Magnus works over Brettas's head and body with a nice combination. Magnus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Brettas is breathing heavily. Magnus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Brettas's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Magnus is trying to control. Brettas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Magnus prevents Brettas from improving his position. Magnus trying to control from half guard but Brettas is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. It looks like Magnus is going to stand back up.
This has been an exciting period of action! Magnus wants to take a breather but Brettas is having none of it.
Simon Magnus has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Magnus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brettas swats him away and circles back towards the center. Brettas shoots for a double leg takedown but Magnus sprawls well. He's pushed Brettas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Magnus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Brettas paws at him with a jab and circles away. Brettas fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Brettas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Magnus defends it nicely. Magnus looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Brettas is fending him off so far but Magnus persists. Nope, Brettas circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magnus is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Brettas stuffs the takedown attempt from Magnus. Magnus gets slowly back to his feet. Brettas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Magnus as he avoids it easily. Magnus moves in looking to clinch but Brettas pushes him off. Magnus fails with a takedown attempt. Magnus is looking to clinch. Brettas dives in and grabs Magnus's left leg, looking for a takedown. Magnus pushes down on Brettas's head and hops out. Magnus shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Brettas pinned against the cage. Brettas gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Magnus tries to bum rush Brettas with a series of wild strikes but Brettas uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Magnus moves to clinch but Brettas breaks away and Brettas counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Magnus throws a head kick that misses. Brettas closes the distance and pushes Magnus back into the cage. Magnus pulls guard effortlessly. Brettas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Magnus is keeping the position for now. Brettas stopping the sweep attempt from Magnus. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Magnus can't keep his opponent in guard - Brettas advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simon Magnus dominated that round. That's time! Brettas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Brettas looks to land a combination but Magnus avoids it well. Magnus tries to clinch up. Brettas slaps away a takedown attempt from Magnus, before circling back to the center of the mat. Magnus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Brettas swivels and escapes. Brettas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Magnus tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brettas is in Magnus's guard. Brettas wants to control from the top but Magnus keeps moving. Magnus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Brettas stacks Magnus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Brettas! Brettas in side control, throwing shots but Magnus defends.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brettas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brettas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Brettas goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Magnus rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Brettas's guard! Nice work there by Magnus! Brettas is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Magnus has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Brettas is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Rapha Brettas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simon Magnus.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brettas pulls guard. Brettas has a closed guard, preventing Magnus from standing up. Magnus trying to control but Brettas is working from the bottom. Magnus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brettas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Brettas working a defensive guard but Magnus manages to pass into side control anyway.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Brettas struggling a bit here. Rapha Brettas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magnus tries for a kimura but Brettas is defending well. Brettas is trying to control Magnus's posture but Magnus avoids it. Brettas manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Magnus wants to control but Brettas is keeping busy and won't allow it. Brettas is pressing down on Magnus's thigh, looking to free his foot. Magnus is holding on for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Brettas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Rapha Brettas dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
No luck for Brettas with that takedown attempt. Magnus bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Magnus working away. Brettas is trying to get back to half guard. Magnus is looking to take a break and control but Brettas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Brettas tries to improve position but can't. Magnus passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Brettas! Magnus prevents Brettas from getting the reversal.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magnus can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brettas is looking to escape. Magnus manages to capitalize on a mistake by Brettas to take his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Magnus is not going to allow Brettas to sit and survive in this position. Magnus is punishing Brettas with some ground and pound. Brettas looking very determined here, making life difficult for Magnus.

Magnus tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. I would not like to be Magnus right now.
Brettas doesn't have the hooks in and Magnus manages to turn into his guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Brettas has his foot on Magnus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Magnus works his way back into a safe position though.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Simon Magnus. Well Magnus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
