PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Caron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gena Krocodil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Caron has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Caron seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krocodil tries to clinch but Caron moves out of range.
Caron throws a right and a left that Krocodil avoids nicely.

and Krocodil decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Caron's guard.
Caron tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Caron looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Krocodil passes into side control.
Krocodil wants to control but Caron is keeping him busy.
Caron might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Caron is trying to get back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Caron gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Caron has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Krocodil is working away from the top position though.

Caron makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Caron.

Krocodil tries to stand and escape but Caron is controlling the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Caron makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Caron avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Krocodil fails with the takedown.
Krocodil jabs Caron right on the nose. Caron blinks but takes it well.

It looks like John Caron has been cut.
Krocodil shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Caron but Caron pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Krocodil shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Caron defends it nicely.
John Caron has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gena Krocodil.
Caron is looking to clinch but Krocodil is avoiding it.
Caron tries to clinch there but Krocodil circles away.

Caron tries to close the distance and clinch but Krocodil swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Krocodil looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Krocodil counters with a nice body shot.
Caron shoots for a takedown but Krocodil saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Caron shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Krocodil as he jumps to the side.

Horrible takedown by Krocodil or perhaps it was just good defense by Caron which made him look bad.
Caron will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Caron tries to clinch up but Krocodil circles away and keeps his distance.
Caron tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krocodil paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Caron doesn't manage to clinch there - Krocodil circles away.

Caron darts in and clinches Krocodil up against the cage.
Krocodil blocks a punch to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Caron can't break the clinch.
Caron tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Krocodil tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Caron smiles and moves away.
Caron throws a jab when Krocodil was well out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gena Krocodil dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Caron's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Horrible takedown by Krocodil or perhaps it was just good defense by Caron which made him look bad.

Caron is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Krocodil stays in close to Caron's body and controls the position.
Caron wants to sweep but no luck.
Caron is trying to hold Krocodil in close to prevent damage but Krocodil has managed to pass into half guard.
Caron is trying to maintain the position but Krocodil is very close to passing his half guard.

Krocodil looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Caron gets back to full guard.

Krocodil is sitting in close to Caron's body. Caron has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Krocodil is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Krocodil is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Caron.
