Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between The Beast (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rex Raptor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rex Raptor told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beast tries to clinch there but Raptor circles away.
Raptor tries to sprawl but Beast drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Beast is looking to take a break and control but Raptor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Raptor is trying to stand.
Raptor won't allow Beast to pass to mount.
Beast thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Beast wants to work for an arm triangle but Raptor is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Beast tries to stand and escape but Raptor is controlling the position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Raptor lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A slapping body kick lands there for Beast.
Beast shoots for a double leg takedown but Raptor sprawls well. He's pushed Beast's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Raptor on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Beast. Beast obviously looking to wear him down.

Beast tries to pull guard but Raptor won't allow it.

Raptor throws a right and a left that Beast avoids nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Beast thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Raptor's head.

Beast lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Raptor looks like he's trying to stand up.
Beast is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Beast stops Raptor from getting back to his feet.

Beast is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Beast tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Raptor.
Beast tries to pass to full mount but Raptor defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Beast is keen to just control but Raptor is a slippery customer.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Raptor enables Beast to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Raptor manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Beast postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Raptor is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Beast, into his guard.
Raptor gets to his feet. Beast looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Raptor tries to break free but Beast pushes him back against the cage.
Raptor wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Beast could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Beast tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Raptor just stands there and leans against the cage.
Raptor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Beast jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Raptor walks away with a smile on his face. Beast gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Beast throws a head kick that half lands.
Raptor tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Beast pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice takedown defense from Raptor. No joy for Beast on that attempt.

We're going to have a standup here because The Beast wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Raptor wants to get back to his feet.
Beast seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Raptor won't allow Beast to pass to mount.

Well Beast has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
