Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tim Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddie Singer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddie Singer! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Singer fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Hughes gets a double leg takedown into Singer's guard. Singer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Hughes stands up from guard. Let's bang! Hughes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hughes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hughes lands in his opponent's guard. Hughes forces his way into half guard. Singer gets full guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Hughes trying to control but Singer is working from the bottom. Singer should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Hughes won't allow Singer to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes trying to control but Singer is working from the bottom. Hughes working some strikes from top position. Hughes landing with the ground and pound. Hughes trying to control the position from guard on top but Singer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Singer is trying to control the position but Hughes postures up. Singer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hughes controls the pace. Hughes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Tim Hughes has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Hughes leaves Singer with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes shoots in for a double leg but Singer sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Singer tries to close the distance and clinch but Hughes swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Singer closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hughes circles away. Tim Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Freddie Singer. Singer looks winded! Hughes stuffs the takedown. Hughes clinches up with Singer and pushes him back against the cage. Hughes on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Hughes turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Hughes will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Hughes cracks Singer with a big right hand but Singer just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Singer gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Hughes controlling the pace for now. Hughes with good strikes from the mount here! Hughes lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Hughes wants to control the pace but Singer is squirming around nicely. Hughes tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Singer wants to control but Hughes is having none of it. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Hughes controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Singer as he avoids it easily. Hughes blocks a low kick nicely. Singer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hughes is fending him off so far but Singer persists. Nope, Hughes circles away and we're back to standing. Hughes shoots in looking for a takedown but Singer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hughes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hughes misses with a takedown attempt - Singer sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tim Hughes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hughes moves in looking to clinch but Singer pushes him off. Nice uppercut lands for Hughes. That snapped Singer's head back.
Hughes shoots for a double leg takedown but Singer sprawls well. He's pushed Hughes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hughes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Singer sprawls well. Singer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hughes gets slowly back to his feet. Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Singer as he avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Singer shoots for a takedown but Hughes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Hughes forces Singer back against the cage and clinches. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Singer is trying to break the clinch but Hughes is controlling him. Singer goes for a takedown attempt but Hughes pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Nice body punch from Singer - that landed with a thud.
Hughes is pressed up against the cage. Singer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hughes down to the mat. Hughes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Hughes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hughes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Singer is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Hughes. Hughes sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hughes unloading with bombs! Hughes goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Singer turns into him and now he's in Hughes's guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hughes manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hughes is trying to keep Singer in close.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Singer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hughes is keeping the position for now. Hughes pulls Singer in to control the position. Hughes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Singer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Singer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hughes is working an open guard so Singer takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hughes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hughes trying to control the position but Singer is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Singer shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hughes is trying to defend but Singer finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hughes is looking to control Singer's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hughes avoid being mounted? Singer works his foot free and advances to mount. Hughes is desperately trying to improve his position but Singer has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hughes regains half guard. Tim Hughes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Hughes keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Singer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hughes keeps working. Hughes is trying to stand up here but Singer is controlling him well. Hughes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hughes tries to get out of the position. Hughes wants to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughes is staying active underneath Singer, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Singer stalling away here and it's allowed Hughes to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Singer throwing strikes but missing. Singer wants to control from the top but Hughes keeps moving. Hughes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hughes pushes Singer off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Singer doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hughes counters with a straight right hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Singer as he jumps to the side. Hughes closes the distance and clinches. Hughes has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Singer clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Singer breaks Hughes's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Singer wants to control from the top but Hughes keeps moving. Singer wants to pass the guard but Hughes is keeping the position. Singer won't allow Hughes to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Singer postures up.
Singer is looking to stand up but Hughes won't let him. Singer tries to free his leg and advance position but Hughes is retaining full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hughes forces Singer back against the cage and clinches. Hughes is trying to drag Singer to the mat but Singer just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Singer tries to circle away but Hughes has him pinned against the cage. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Singer wants a takedown but no success here.
Freddie Singer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tim Hughes is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Singer is pressed up against the cage. Hughes has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Singer down to the mat. Singer avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tim Hughes. Well Hughes has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
