The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Faria wants to clinch up but Straw keeps it at a distance.
Faria misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Straw closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Faria is defending against the submission attempts here by Straw.
Straw is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Faria doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Straw.
Straw is looking for a kimura but Faria is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Straw to get the leverage.
