Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cory Leanord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dodson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
10 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leanord shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dodson pinned against the cage. Dodson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and Dodson counters with a single leg into guard. Leanord didn't expect that.
Leanord really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dodson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Dodson stands up and waves to Leanord to follow him.
Leanord gets caught flat footed, as Dodson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dodson cracks Leanord with a solid left hand.
Dodson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Leanord knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dodson on the ground.
Dodson stays in close to Leanord's body and controls the position.
Dodson connects with a couple of short punches.
Dodson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Dodson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Dodson gets to his feet - Leanord follows without any prompting.
Dodson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dodson gets a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dodson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Dodson controlling the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dodson is on top in guard.
Dodson drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Dodson as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Leanord screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Dodson! Nice submission victory there!

John Dodson took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
