The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michael drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Ufc looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ufc is on top in guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Devin Michael wasn't active enough on the ground.

Michael has Ufc pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Michael pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ufc tumbling to the mat - Michael dives into Ufc's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ufc sneaks out the side door and pushes Michael away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Michael has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ufc is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Michael closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Michael swings around for an armbar but Ufc sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Michael's guard.
Michael has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
