Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 2, fighting out of London, Agaton Piaskun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Lyov Kirijenko! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kirijenko avoids a kick to the body.
Piaskun throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Piaskun misses with a hook. Kirijenko misses with a wild body shot. Kirijenko lands an overhand right. Piaskun misses with a kick to the body.
Kirijenko misses with a low kick.
Kirijenko uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Piaskun.
Kirijenko moves into the clinch. Piaskun effectively controlling the action here. Piaskun keeps control of Kirijenko as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Piaskun as Kirijenko tries to tie him up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirijenko is stalling here.
Kirijenko letting Piaskun take a breather here. Kirijenko tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Piaskun. Kirijenko trying to control the position but instead, Piaskun has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kirijenko into the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Piaskun tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kirijenko just stands there and leans against the cage. Kirijenko leaning his opponent against the cage. Kirijenko throws a head punch that misses. Kirijenko wants to break free but Piaskun has control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Piaskun leaning his opponent against the cage. Piaskun being controlled against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Piaskun has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Kirijenko is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Piaskun stalling in the clinch.
Piaskun's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. A low kick from Kirijenko misses and Piaskun counters with a lovely straight right hand! Kirijenko scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Piaskun tries to roll over but Kirijenko keeps him under control. Kirijenko is looking to take a break and control but Piaskun is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lyov Kirijenko will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Kirijenko swings for the body but Piaskun moves out of range.
Kirijenko throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Lyov Kirijenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kirijenko throws a nice looking combination but Piaskun bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Piaskun keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kirijenko throws a leg kick but Piaskun sees it coming and checks it nicely. Piaskun drives through with a takedown into Kirijenko's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Piaskun won't allow Kirijenko to sweep him here. Kirijenko striking off his back. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kirijenko is on top in guard.
Piaskun avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Piaskun has his hands on Kirijenko's head, controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kirijenko trying to control but Piaskun is working from the bottom. Piaskun is controlling Kirijenko's posture. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Kirijenko throws a big right hand that misses.
We're going to have a standup here because Agaton Piaskun wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Piaskun, right into the meat.
Kirijenko moves out of range as Piaskun strikes. Kirijenko showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Piaskun.
Piaskun connects with a body shot that sends Kirijenko's belly button to the back. Kirijenko is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Piaskun scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kirijenko doesn't seem bothered though. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kirijenko takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Piaskun lands a big uppercut and Kirijenko crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Kirijenko looks OK. Piaskun waves Kirijenko back to his feet!
Kirijenko is rocked!
It looks like Lyov Kirijenko has been cut. Piaskun ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Kirijenko's jaw. Kirijenko's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Piaskun does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Agaton Piaskun! During a confident post fight interview, Agaton Piaskun thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
