Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Oskar Kokoshka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Scarlatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kokoshka's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Baba O'Riley. Derek Scarlatti looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oskar Kokoshka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Derek Scarlatti! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Damien Edna and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scarlatti wants to clinch up but Kokoshka keeps it at a distance. Scarlatti tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Kokoshka really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. The fight stays on the outside here - Scarlatti looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kokoshka blocks a head kick by Scarlatti.
Scarlatti rushes Kokoshka and presses him up against the cage. Kokoshka lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Scarlatti backwards. Kokoshka lands a nice elbow. Scarlatti wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kokoshka has him pressed against the cage. Kokoshka stalling in the clinch.
Kokoshka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Scarlatti darts in trying to clinch and Kokoshka counters with a three punch combo that has Scarlatti backing up. Scarlatti nods at Kokoshka to acknowledge the strikes. Scarlatti has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Kokoshka pushes Scarlatti away with a front kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scarlatti fails in his attempt to clinch. Scarlatti closes the distance and clinches. Scarlatti breaks the clinch.
Scarlatti clinches up with Kokoshka and pushes him back against the cage. Scarlatti breaks from the clinch.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kokoshka.
Scarlatti slips under a jab. Kokoshka throws a front kick aimed at Scarlatti's knee but Scarlatti avoids it well. Scarlatti darts in trying to clinch and Kokoshka counters with a stiff right hand. A punch combination from Kokoshka misses. Scarlatti throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Kokoshka to counter with a crisp jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scarlatti tries to clinch but Kokoshka moves away and Scarlatti takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Kokoshka darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Scarlatti tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kokoshka counters with a left to the body. Scarlatti throws a low kick but it's checked well by Kokoshka. Kokoshka misses with a wild combination.
Kokoshka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Scarlatti wants to clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kokoshka throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Scarlatti scores with a kick to the body.
Scarlatti closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scarlatti taking a breather. Scarlatti lands an uppercut. Scarlatti wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kokoshka has him pressed against the cage. Kokoshka wants a takedown.
Kokoshka's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kokoshka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kokoshka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Scarlatti avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kokoshka. Scarlatti regains half guard, as Kokoshka was trying to land strikes. Kokoshka looks to land a strike but Scarlatti avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kokoshka postures up in Scarlatti's guard and throws a big left but Scarlatti blocks it. Kokoshka throws an elbow that misses. Scarlatti uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kokoshka's guard. Nice move by Scarlatti! Scarlatti drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Scarlatti jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kokoshka looking to control.
Kokoshka looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Scarlatti would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kokoshka seems keen to control Scarlatti's posture. Scarlatti wants to stand but Kokoshka is controlling his posture from full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Oskar Kokoshka will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
Scarlatti is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kokoshka cracks Scarlatti with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Scarlatti tries to clinch up and Kokoshka counters with a low kick, right behind Scarlatti 's knee. Scarlatti throws a head kick but Kokoshka moves out of range.
Scarlatti tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kokoshka swats him away and circles back towards the center. Scarlatti tries to clinch up and Kokoshka counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kokoshka throws a low kick but it's checked well by Scarlatti. Oskar Kokoshka is winning the standup battle so far. Scarlatti throws a leg kick that misses. Derek Scarlatti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Kokoshka looks to land a combination but Scarlatti avoids it well. Oskar Kokoshka is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Scarlatti walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Scarlatti closes the distance but Kokoshka moves to the side letting Kokoshka counter with a right hand. Derek Scarlatti is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Scarlatti throws a head kick but Kokoshka moves out of range.
Kokoshka throws a low kick but it's checked well by Scarlatti. Scarlatti wants to clinch and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kokoshka will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Scarlatti looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Scarlatti tries to clinch up. Scarlatti tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kokoshka swats him away and circles back towards the center. Scarlatti closes the distance but Kokoshka moves to the side and Kokoshka counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Kokoshka is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Kokoshka misses with a wild combination.

Scarlatti moves to clinch but Kokoshka breaks away and Kokoshka counters with a nice uppercut. Scarlatti blocks a leg kick. Scarlatti tries to clinch and Kokoshka counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kokoshka shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scarlatti sprawls well. Scarlatti wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kokoshka gets slowly back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kokoshka circles away from the clinch attempt and Kokoshka counters with an inside leg kick. Scarlatti misses with an attempted mid kick.
Scarlatti throws a head kick that misses. Scarlatti takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. The fight stays on the outside here - Scarlatti looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kokoshka swats away the attempt to clinch by Scarlatti. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kokoshka looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Scarlatti misses with a few strikes there.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oskar Kokoshka will probably get the nod. That's time! Kokoshka's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Scarlatti connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Scarlatti tries to clinch but Kokoshka is having none of it. Scarlatti throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kokoshka connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kokoshka rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Scarlatti moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Kokoshka ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Scarlatti misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kokoshka.
Scarlatti has taken the fight to the clinch.
Kokoshka escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Kokoshka is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Kokoshka misses with a double jab.
Scarlatti tries to clinch up but Kokoshka circles away and keeps his distance. Scarlatti closes the distance looking to clinch and Kokoshka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kokoshka throws a big right hand that misses. Kokoshka postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Kokoshka wants to control from the top but Scarlatti keeps moving. Kokoshka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kokoshka won't allow Scarlatti to get back to his feet. Kokoshka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Scarlatti keeping moving, preventing Kokoshka from controlling successfully. Oskar Kokoshka is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Scarlatti looks to clinch and Kokoshka counters with a nice low kick that buckles Scarlatti's knee momentarily. Kokoshka connects with the punch. Scarlatti tries to clinch up and Kokoshka counters with a straight right hand. Scarlatti closes the distance and pushes Kokoshka back into the cage. Scarlatti is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Scarlatti tries to break free but Kokoshka pushes him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kokoshka keeps control of Scarlatti as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Scarlatti wants to break free but Kokoshka has control.

Scarlatti is struggling to control the position. Scarlatti has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Scarlatti using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Kokoshka has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Scarlatti wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kokoshka has him pressed against the cage. Scarlatti misses with the head strike.
Scarlatti is looking to break free of the clinch but Kokoshka has double underhooks. Kokoshka wants to take the fight to the mat but Scarlatti manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kokoshka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kokoshka blocks a head kick by Scarlatti.
Scarlatti takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Left hook, right uppercut from Kokoshka. Kokoshka feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Scarlattis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Kokoshka paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Scarlatti tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kokoshka counters with a straight right hand. Scarlatti closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Scarlatti breaks the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Kokoshka throws a right hand that Scarlatti ducks under and follows up with a left that Scarlatti also avoids with ease. Kokoshka misses with a double jab.
Derek Scarlatti has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Scarlatti is looking to clinch but Kokoshka is avoiding it.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Oskar Kokoshka. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kokoshka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
