Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gilberto da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David Silva will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gilberto da Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Silva! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! da Silva closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - da Silva lands in his opponent's guard. da Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. da Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Silva has wrist control. Silva wants to stand up but da Silva is controlling him. Silva utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. da Silva pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. Silva can't keep his opponent in guard - da Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch. da Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. da Silva controlling the position easily from mount. Silva is squirming around, avoiding da Silva's attempts to control the action.
That's two minutes gone in the round. da Silva sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. da Silva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Gilberto da Silva just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Silva tries to clinch up. da Silva has Silva up against the cage in a clinch.
da Silva blocks an uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. da Silva pulls guard successfully.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as da Silva holds on and takes a little breather. Silva looks gassed! da Silva trying to control the position.
da Silva is controlling Silva's posture. da Silva's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva wants to clinch and da Silva counters with a takedown into side control. Silva is looking to work his way out of this bad position but da Silva is controlling him well. da Silva looking to control but instead Silva has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. da Silva lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Silva is trying to defend against the ground and pound but da Silva scores with a couple of nice shots. Silva is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. da Silva looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. da Silva is working hard here to advance position. Still in half guard, da Silva seems content to control. Silva is not content to let da Silva control the position. da Silva working Silva over with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Silva looks to clinch and da Silva decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silva's guard. da Silva stops Silva from standing up. Silva wriggles free and stands up. da Silva will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva closes the distance but da Silva moves to the side and da Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that. da Silva stops Silva from standing up. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. da Silva prevents Silva from getting back to his feet. da Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Silva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. da Silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Silva is retaining full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking to stand back up but da Silva counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Silva. da Silva controls the position. da Silva trying to control the position but Silva is working away.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. da Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. da Silva wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving. da Silva postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gilberto da Silva dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
da Silva pushes Silva up against the cage in a clinch. Silva is trying to break free. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Silva. da Silva has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Silva is trying to keep an underhook but da Silva manages to get the takedown into half guard. da Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Silva does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Silva wants to get back to his feet.
Gilberto da Silva overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Well, if da Silva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
da Silva thows a huge punch but Silva dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Silva kicks off da Silva and gets to his feet. da Silva moves into range and clinches up with Silva. A head punch blocked on the inside by da Silva. Silva tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. da Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Silva can't fight it off and eventually da Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. da Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Silva takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. da Silva throws a strike but Silva rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Silva being controlled here momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. da Silva controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself. da Silva looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. da Silva looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Gilberto da Silva just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Silva tries to clinch but fails miserably and da Silva counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that. da Silva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that's the end of the fight! Gilberto da Silva showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for da Silva, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
