PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Prime Time (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marko Baron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baron has chosen Asian Hooker as his entrance music. Prime Time had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Prime Time!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marko Baron!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baron throws a series of punches but Time avoids them all with ease.
Time on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Marko Baron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Time takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Time avoids the head kick by Baron.
Time takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Baron lands a right hook to the body.
Time will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Time blocks a low kick nicely.
Time throws a low kick but Baron moves out of range easily.
Time takes a jab right on the kisser.
Baron uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Time.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Baron, as that shot connected.
Baron scores with a jab. Time acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Time just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Baron. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Baron.

Baron throws a jab when Time was well out of range.
Time lands with a nice body kick.
Baron connects with a single shot there.
Time walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Baron feints and then cracks Time's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Time down.
Baron will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Sloppy strikes from Baron. Those never looked like landing.
Baron lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Time moves in looking to clinch but Baron pushes him off.
A combination from Baron does no damage.
Time throws a quick inside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Time tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Baron tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Baron attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Time moves into range and clinches up with Baron.
Baron blocks a body shot from Time.
Baron pushes Time back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Baron lands an uppercut.
Baron tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Baron gets underhooks to prevent Time's takedown attempt.
Baron lands a damaging elbow.
Time trying to stall but Baron improves his position.
Baron has Time pressed against the cage, preventing Time from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Baron is fighting off a takedown attempt but Time is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Baron to the mat. Baron regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Time pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Baron is keeping the position for now.

Baron keeping moving, preventing Time from controlling successfully.
Time is in close to Baron's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Time postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Baron escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Time gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Time avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Baron looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Time stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baron swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Baron is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Baron looking for a sweep. Not yet Baron, not yet.
Time is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Time pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Baron is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Baron digs a good hook to Time's body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Baron tries to clinch up.
A jab from Baron misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Baron throws a hook but Time avoids it easily.
Baron misses with a jab, cross combination.
Baron lands a jab to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marko Baron dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Time has a takedown stuffed.
Baron looks to land a right hand but Time moved out of range.
Baron lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Time gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Time goes for a takedown attempt but Baron pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Time changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Baron looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
You can see the frustration on Baron's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Baron tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Time taking a break here but Baron is having none of it and regains half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Time not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Baron desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Baron wants to get back to his feet.
Baron is trying to maintain the position but Time is very close to passing his half guard.
Baron is refusing to be controlled, as Time sits in half guard.
Time performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Time.

Baron swings away with a body shot that misses
and Time counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Baron scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Time fails in his attempt to clinch.
Baron throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A jab from Baron misses.
Baron keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Time circles away from the clinch attempt.
Time darts in trying to clinch
and Baron counters with a straight right hand.
Baron looks to clinch

so Time counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Baron keeping full guard, as Time tries to pass.

Baron has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Time can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Time is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Time trying to control the position from guard on top but Baron is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Time avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Time wants to control from the top but Baron keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Time works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Time is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Baron doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Time.
Time passes to side control.
Baron is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Time's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Time is looking to take a break and control but Baron is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Baron is trying to stand back up but Time is controlling him
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prime Time dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Baron throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Time misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Baron misses with a body kick.
Baron digs a good body shot into Time's ribs.

Time fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Baron sprawls well initially but Time persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Time seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baron does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Baron regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Time.
Baron is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Time stops Baron from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Time trying to control but Baron is working from the bottom.

Time missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Time working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Baron's head.
Time is looking to work some ground and pound but Baron has wrist control.
Baron avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Time scoring with punches to the head and body.
Baron not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Baron throws his legs up looking for a submission but Time uses it to pass to side control.
Baron parries the strikes from Time easily there. Time is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Baron to escape.
Baron takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Baron wants to control but Time postures up.
Time misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Baron tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Time presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Time lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Baron is trying to escape the mount.

Time with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Time landing strikes, looking to finish!

Time scoring with strikes but Baron is staying in there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Time cracks Baron with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Baron takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Time pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


Baron is rocked!
Time postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Baron bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Time and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Prime Time!
In his post fight interview, Prime Time started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
